Today’s post-work walk in the Peak District was in Monsal Dale.

With improving weather forecast, I headed to the far north of the Peak District to tick off my final three Derbyshire Tumps with two short walks near Glossop and a big loop north from Crowden.

My colleague Aditya and I went for another evening stroll in the Peak District, this time on the hillside above Carsington Water.

My colleague Aditya suggested an evening walk in the Peak District. We opted for a few miles’ circuit from Alstonefield into upper Dovedale.

For today’s walk I headed to the Upper Derwent Valley, starting at Ashopton and heading north over the moors and back down the valley beside the river and reservoirs. Summer is definitely on its way – temperatures reached 25C in the valley today.

Mum and Dad visited me in Derbyshire. We enjoyed two good walks in sunshine in the Peak District, exploring Gun and the Roaches on Saturday and Monsal Dale and Longstone Moor on Sunday.

Today’s 36km walk around Buxton took in three of my remaining Derbyshire Tumps, as well as the better known landmarks of Black Edge, Monk’s Dale and Chee Dale.

A colleague and I met up for a 30km walk along some of the gritstone edges north of Baslow, enjoying better-than-forecast weather with some sunny spells.

I enjoyed a sunny walk circumnavigating Matlock, ticking off five more Derbyshire Tumps along the way!

Mum and Dad visited for the weekend. We enjoyed walks in improving weather in Dove Dale and fine sunshine in Edale.

Unusually spending a Bank Holiday weekend at home, I decided to focus my walks on ticking off some obscure local Tumps (P30s). I’ve now visited 108 out of 127 in Derbyshire.

Today’s walk from Kirk Ireton took in a few P30s that I hadn’t previously visited near Carsington Water, circumnavigating the lake at a distance.

Today’s local walk was in the Staffordshire Peak. Starting near Upper Hulme, I followed the Roaches ridge to Danebridge, continued up the Dane Valley to Flash, then looped back to the east via Merryton Low.

My parents visited for the weekend. As the forecast was poor, we opted for the mainly-indoor option of visiting the Heights of Abraham, above Matlock Bath.

Bright and breezy today in the White Peak: perfect for trying out my new car on some country roads and a circular walk from Ashford in the Water.

Today’s walk in the heart of the Peak District started in Hope village and followed the skyline over Lose Hill, Mam Tor, Old Moor, Bradwell Edge, Offerton Moor and Win Hill.

Lacking any other inspiration for where to walk today, I devised a loop south of Hartington to tick off two of my three remaining Peak District P30s. Starting on Alsop Moor, I headed up the Tissington Trail (with the two bagging diversions) and back down Beresford and Wolfscote Dales.

Today’s walk in the Dark Peak was less sunny than I’d hoped, but more snowy! I didn’t like the look of the steep snowy road over Mam Tor into Edale (my original intended start-point), so I headed instead to Hayfield for a short-ish loop of the eastern skyline. The low cloud persisted much of the way, but it was mostly clear from Kinder Downfall onwards.
