CUHWC Snowdonia Trip (28th-30th January 2011)

We enjoyed excellent sunny weather for the first CUHWC weekend trip of the year, staying near Capel Curig. I did Snowdon both days: via the Horseshoe on Saturday and via Moel Eilio and the Llanberis path on Sunday.

The Roaches and Shutlingsloe (23rd January 2011)

For my first local walk of the year, I headed to the western edge of the Peak District for a walk taking in The Roaches, Shutlingsloe and Three Shire Heads. There were certainly lots of people out and about, walking and mountain biking – surprisingly many, given the rather grey weather!

CUHWC Seathwaite Trip (7th-9th January 2011)

Two years since my last visit, I returned to High House, at the very top of Borrowdale, for the weekend part of the club’s annual New Year trip to Seathwaite. The weather was rather grey but mostly dry for our walks to Great Gable and High Spy.

Duffers Tyndrum Trip (27th December 2010 – 3rd January 2011)

For this year’s Younger Duffers’ New Year trip, thirteen of us stayed at Kirkton Farmhouse, near Tyndrum. Though rather grey at times, the weather was dry and calm throughout, and we were able to climb Munros every day. I managed to bag eleven new ones, taking my total to 198.
